CYS Recognizes Harlee Head for State Cup Play

The annual Colorado Youth Soccer Awards banquet was held Friday night and U13 Rush Goalkeeper Harlee Head was recognized for her outstanding performance during the Fall State Cup Tournament. Harlee led the Rush girls through the tournament, earning a shutout in each of the match play games, the quarterfinals and the semi-finals (5 straight games) before finally conceding in the tournament final where Rush finished as runners-up.

"Harlee is an asset to the 04 team. When we have possession of the ball, Harlee is truly our 11th soccer player, great with her feet and able to help us keep the ball. Harlee is then our keeper when we are not in possession, commanding the box and always fun to watch. This achievement is truly deserved!" exclaimed her coach Russell Finch.

Harlee was very excited about the award but more excited to talk about her club, "I play for the The Rush because we play the Rush Way.  We possess.... we build from the back starting with me as a goalkeeper.  I love to play high outside the 18... Rush gives me freedom to play without fear," she said. "I love this club and everything it stands for.  I fully believe in the core values... I'm honored to represent The Rush!"

Colorado Rush Goalkeeper Coach Garrison Goodner also spoke praise of the young keeper, "Harlee has an undeniable passion for the position. She is very good technically and is a presence on the field. She is continuously trying to get better, and is a joy to work with. The award is much deserved."

Congratulations Harlee!
